Reincarnation
by Dejan „Da Funk“ Subotin

Review written by CreaMD

Tempest has discovered a new musician! And as you can read later, it's a valuable discovery. This collection not only brings some decent graphic by JailBird, smooth coding by Ninja/The Dreams/Tempest, but as far as I know, it's a first release using Dreamload v2.1 which is the most valuable IRQ loader available as it's the most compatible IRQ loader ever created for c64. (NTSC/PAL and various hardware devices.)

Grab it from here. Use mouse right button click → save target as.

The collection contains tunes mostly inspired by todays pop & dance music. You might find covers of some great hits here. All in all it's very tastefully composed and definitely worth checking. Great work Da Funk.

BACK2HOME – nice, simple a little bit melancholic yet I like it. 5/10

CHOCOS – Good sounds, a little bit silly, happy melody, but still not a bad tune! 5/10

CITYFOLKS – Very nice beginning. Later after 1:30 it sounds like some sort of Terminator movie soundtrack inspired melody. 5.5/10

DA FLOW- Now this could be a HIT… aha It was a hit back then. Cover of a well known tune by a well known Italo-Disco (or what was it ;-) producing Capella… 6/10

EIFFEL 65 – Another cover – a little bit too slow for me but yeah it rocks anyway. I'm bluuuu… yaba daba doooo ;-)). Well, I was listening to this tune a lot when I was green (in army ;-) and felt completely blue, so I have a sort of emotional attachment to this one. Well done funky boy! 6.1/10

FLOATING – happy, simple and energetic tune. 5.5/10

FLYING! – Yeps a slower song. 5/10

JAMBOO – Good sound, but nothing special. 5/10

KILLER – Nice old-style techno beat. Nice filter-modulation after 2:00. All in all, pretty fat 5 minutes long techno song. 6/10

MANIA – Nothing special, stilll quite nice. 5/10

MEGATOOLZ – Another average tune 5/10

NEW WORLD – nice percussion. This tunei is a little bit too much chaotic. Probably some of the oldest? 4/10

MEGATOOLZ – Wow! Very catching beginning! Another cover of a quite decent commercial dance tune. Done in a monumental and thoughtful style. Thumbs up. 7.5/10

PHREAK – Empty. 3/10

R.A.V.E. – Rave. After 1:00 get's better, but still nothing extra. 4 /10

RAINY NIGHT – Another of the slow tunes. I'm sure you will like it. It has almost 5 minutes and speeds up later. You can hear a very nice metallic percussion later in the tune. 6/10

TECHNO I – Hardcore techno beat with interesting sounds and rythm experiments! This is a must for all technolovers out there. 6/10

TECHNO II – Another techno beat. 6/10

THE GALAXY – I don't know. 5/10

THE HARMONY – Just n(ice) ;-). 5/10

YA BRAIN – 5/10

ZLOBNICA – A short & sad tune. 5.5/10

4 MY NOTE – Happy, sounding like if it was composed by the Gregfeell – Polish composer. It's quite melodical and features some nice echoes. 6/10

LAZY NIGHT – Slow, nice and that's all. 6/10

U DONT STOP - good but a little bit raggae styled cover of one great hit. 6.5/10

STANDING - A little bit simpler tune with quality „sync“ sound. 5/10

PUSH IT! – Enthusiastic piece ;-), but nothing surprising. 5/10

THE SKULL – A good one! 6/10

VICTORY – As a final tune of the collection this happy tune serves very well. 6,5/10

This collection is a must! Definitely a valuable addition to sid-lover's collection.

Explanation of Creamd's very subjective evaluating system. Less than 2.9 is probably not my cup of tea or a really badly composed piece. Under 4.9 but more than 2.9 I've checked but don't feel the urge to check that again to be sure. Everything over 4,9 points is worth listening. Everything between 5 to 6.9 points I like pretty much, everything from 7 to 9 is bombastic and definitely reccomended to play on a BIG sound equipment, over 9 it is simply gonna make you sweat ;-). And by the way, more comments I write, more inspirative tune it is, but remember it is not a rule.

Briefly:

0.0 – 2.9 – read text for reasons, this tune must be a speciall cathegory,
3.0 – 4.9 – might be okay, but I don't need to listen to this tune again,
5.0 – 6.9 – I like this pretty much,
7.0 – 8.9 – bombastic for various reasons,
9.0 – 9.9 – gona make you sweat.
