Amebas - finally something |
20:55 |
After several years of coding and then checking what went wrong I am finally able to release a preview of my game project. Amebas is a Worms-like "strategy" game where you have to get rid of your opponents by shooting them away. Download it from noname.c64.org/csdb/getinternalfile.php/570/amebaspre.ZIP and let me know what you think. Richard updated "Amebas Preview" with additional player sprites. Download here. It is an official update, means Dosoo saw it first before the update got uploaded :) Updated by MacGyver on 8th January 2007, 18:56 CET

Falcon Dash 2003 - The Dark Cave |
19:06 |

For CMD Owners; DriveGhost updated |
08:49 |
DriveGhost has been updated to v1.03. The main improvement in the upgrade is the addition of two new sub-versions:
fast-serial restore (standard XE1541 cable, but speeds up the restoration of data from a 64HDD archive). The custom 64HDD protocol is as fast as JiffyDOS.
parallel backup/restore (requires the Pwr/XE cable and a bi-directional LPT port on your PC). This is the fastest method available. The updated manual can be downloaded from the DriveGhost webpage: www.64hdd.com/driveghost/ Download 64HDD and give test out your system. Enjoy!

JC64Dis beta 1 released |
23:44 |
After one year, jc64dis is updated and pass from version alpha to beta 1.
JC64Dis is a java application of the project JC64 (java C64 emulator - www.sf.net/projects/jc64) that disassembly a prg/sid/mus file giving comments to memory locations.
In this version, it uses a patched sidld (sid Length Detector) for managing his memory state: this means that sid file can be disassembled knowing what is code and what is binary data.
There are also some bug fixes of previous version. Download here: prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jc64/jc64dis-beta1.zip?download

The C64 Banner Exchange changing it?s policies |
23:38 |
Maybe you have noticed that the C64 Banner Exchange area on this site now shows more variety of banners than usual few "mainstream" sites adverts. Anonym of Padua explains more in his letter to the banner exchange users: - What does this mean for you? If you have several banners on different pages of your site you will not directly benefit from these exposures anymore.
- If your site is a low traffic site, it will be promoted more.
- If your site is a high traffic site, it will receive less exposures.
I have noticed more than 100% increase of clicks from c64.sk site on advertised banners so it seems the new policies have it?s first benefits. By the way, banner ex has 161 sites registered and about 7 to 8% of all banner impressions are shown at C64.sk.
Happy banner clicking!

It?s a bugfix release of the C crosscompiler package. But there?s an update of ca65html, a cross reference tool which converts assembler source code to (hyperlinked) html and a backport of the disassembler ( da65) from the developement branch. Find out more at www.cc65.org.

 Approximately
at the same time as Sadism 3, Rockin'
Factor, the first C=64 collection of Factor 6 - the ZX'n'C=64 amphibian
- got released. The review of Sadism 3 said that a detailed look at Rockin'
Factor would follow. Publishing of the first got delayed on the webmaster's
side, but the latter was still worth doing because it's quality that matters
- and there's a reasonable share of it in Rockin' Factor, as you're going to
learn from Professor Ugha Sid's review. Download the collection here.

Movie Player v1.0 for WiNGs |
03:50 |
I wrote and demoed a Movie Player for WiNGs at the recent SWRAP C= Expo 2003 In all, there are 3 utilities, video converter, video composer and movie player. The custom video format allows for embedded .wav or .sid audio files, and supports any frame size. Not limited to 320x200. And easily upto 20 fps. By virtue of WiNGs multi-tasking, it is able to pre-buffer the frames, while playing from the buffer that is streaming off a fast drive. IDE64 and Ramlink are fast enough to stream, with a short pre-buffering delay at the start. The SuperCPU is fast enough that I was able to demo 2 independent movies playing in seperate windows side by side, simultaneously. One with a .wav audio track. The other with no audio. For more details, please see the WiNGs website, wings.webhop.org

SWRAP Fall Commodore Expo 2003 News |
17:13 |
The Expo is over, but keep watching the website for further goodies and updates. This year?s expo received coverage in three local newspapers, including one which is distributed all over the Chicagoland area and sent a reporter & camerawoman to see what it is all about. Dave Ross aka Watson has scanned the newspaper clippings, and they can be found on the homepage under "SWRAP Expo 2003 In the News". If you post photos and reviews to the web, please email Watson with a link to them so he can put that link on the site. Source: C= Homestead Mailinglist

Professor Ugha Sid brings you a review of this piece of audial art. Download the collection here.
