Covert BitOps Loadersystem V2.1 |
00:45 |
New version of loadersystem includes support for IRQ-loading on 1581, CMD FD and CMD HD drives. Fastloader protocol is 1-bit so it doesnt break speed records but allows interrupts anywhere & works with several drives connected. Also, easy to couple with almost any decruncher (getbyte routine provided.) Source code in DASM format.

Also included some information about making multi-drive supported IRQ-loaders. 1581, CMD FD and CMD HD information courtesy of Ninja & DocBacardi of The Dreams.

cc65 v2.10.0 "christmas edition" |
18:40 |
Ullrich von Bassewitz : Im proud to announce cc65 version 2.10.0 ("christmas edition"). cc65 is a complete cross development package for 65(C)02 systems, including a powerful macro assembler, a C compiler, linker, librarian and several other tools.
cc65 has C and runtime library support for many of the old 6502 machines, including :
The Commodore VIC20
The Commodore C64 and C128.
The Commodore C16, C116 and Plus/4.
The CBM 510 (aka P500), a quite rare Commodore machine (programs run in bank 0).
The CBM 600/700 family (programs run in bank 1).
Newer PET machines (not 2001)
The Apple ][
The Atari 8 bit machines
GEOS for the C64 and C128
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
The Supervision console
The Oric Atmos (this one is BETA!).
The libraries are fairly portable, so creating a version for other 6502s shouldnt be too much work.

Version 1.0 Movie Player and Tools for WiNGs |
18:54 |
The Version 1.0 Movie Player, as well as conversion and creation tools for WiNGs are now available for download.
There are 4 movies available currently for download. The conversion and creation tools runs on the C64 under wings to create a single movie file from a sequence of JPEGs and a wav file. Quicktime Pro for Windows and Mac has an export feature that allows the exporting of virtually any movie or flash animation to a Jpeg Sequence and Wav audio.
Once a WiNGs movie file is created there is no need for a PC. WiNGs users can type "update moviename.mov" and if that file is available on the WiNGs website it will be directly downloaded to your harddrive.
Realistically the max quality is about 20fps 320x200, 8bit 11/22khz mono, at least for version 1.0.

Fresh 5.25" disks in production |
16:33 |
We have produced disks in the USA for the European retro-computing fans. For a lot of years, disks of the 5,25 inch size were available in nearly every store, but since more than one year, all inventories are sold out. Trying to use 96TPI or 135TPI disks is not always successful, because the heads of Commodore and Apple drives are only made for 48TPI. Other disks have errors, or seem to lose data for no appearent reason.
We have found a company in California that has started the production machines for us. To get the disks to Germany at a reasonable price, we found a complicated but cheap way to transport them: First by train nearly 3000 miles to New York, then by ship to Antwerp, and the last part to Aachen by truck. Starting december 17th, we can offer 25 disks DS SD (48TPI) without envelopes, with stickers at a price of 9,90 EUR!

The new ONLINE SHOP has been launched on the 1st December. It enables customers to purchase state-of-the-art C64 products in an easy and comfortable way. www.protovision-online.deHOCKEY MANIA is a new multiplayer sports game, making use of our 4 PLAYER INTERFACE once again. Two or four players can play simultaneously. We are welcoming orders for HOCKEY MANIA since the 1st of December.
An official demo version is available! Find more information about the game at Protovision?s websites. There is a Christmas Special - HOCKEY MANIA & TEAM PATROL in the form of these 2 MULTIPLAYER BUNDLES: - Hockey Mania & Team Patrol for 15 Euro - Hockey Mania, Team Patrol & 4 Player Interface for 30 Euro This special offer is only valid until the 24th of December. The prices for single games are: HOCKEY MANIA - 10 Euro; TEAM PATROL - 10 Euro; 4 PLAYER INTERFACE - 15 Euro. THUNDER.BIRD is currently developping a fine build-in StereoSID cartridge called "StereoINsid". StereoINsid plugs into the SID socket of your C64. Please your ears with 6 voices of stereo SID music! Furthermore, atleast 2 stereo digi voices are possible! For those who stick to standard SID tunes, there is the "pseudo stereo mode": Both SIDs will play the same data, turning the mono output to stereo. Check details on the hardware and listen to example musics (mp3) - www.athomebymalte.de If you got visions and ideas on how a new StereoSID cartridge should be like, you may want to join the StereoSID mailing list. It is going to be established for developpers and first customers soon. Visit the homepage for details. There is no need to build the cartridge on your own, as PROTOVISION is going to distribute STEREOINSID in the near future. You will receive a finished board, no soldering will be necessary. To avoid confusion: NO, Thunder.Bird aka Malte Schulze is a DIFFERENT person than ThunderBlade aka Malte Mundt :-) At VISION 2003, ThunderBlade took a bunch of photos. They are online at the Vision homepage by now. If you can read German, you should check out Big User's Protovision Site. There are updates on Courage's new game project TANKS 3000 aswell as on Big User's WOR WIZARDS. The pricelist was updated once again. It now features prices for the American magazine LOADSTAR.

HVMEC (High Voltage Music Engine Collection) is ready with 56 engines (editor/tracker).
You can see the collection at digilander.iol.it/ice00/tsid/hvmec.html and if you like you can download it for offline browsing.
Motivation about madding this collection, his structure, ..., will be presented in an article in #5 of SIDin magazine ( digilander.iol.it/ice00/tsid/sidin ) that is near to be ready (perhaps it will be released before Christmas), so just stay tuned for the next weeks.
I hope that you will enjoy this new collection.

Go vote for your favourites! Yes, it is that time of the year again when people gather and give nice presents to each other to show how much they like (or dislike - depends on the present) each other. So why shouldn"t You take Your chance of giving Your personal Christmas present to the scene? Why shouldn"t You take part in the Official Christmas Demo / Music Compo taking place for the second time now?
