Here is a program i wrote in 1987 for my computer studies coursework at school. It is a disk based database management system(!) using RELative file types (got me a grade A!)
www.logan-5.co.uk/QLS/database.htm
Many thanks to Nenad Cocic (Cole) for typing in the program from a listing I had (disk was lost many years ago)

C128 system info program updated |
21:12 |
A few days ago, I wrote about a C128 system information program I have implemented. Since then, I have corrected a bug that caused lock-ups on NTSC systems, I have improved the look of the program and I have added a number of new detections. The program now detects and reports the following:
* BASIC LO and HI version
* EDITOR/KERNAL version (including language)
* VDC chip version
* The amount of VDC memory
* The version of the SID chip (6581 or 8580). Note that reSID must be enabled in VICE if you want it to work with VICE.
* MMU version (most likely, only one version has been made of the MMU)
* TV system (PAL or NTSC)
* if REU is present and the REU size
* if SuperCPU is present (not sure if this works since I dont have a SuperCPU to test with)
* attached disk drives including their models
The link to the .zip file containing the .d71 file is here:
w1.865.comhem.se/~u86517142/Disketter/Egna_program_och_projekt/c128_prg.zip .
The program is called "SYSTEM INFO R2A". ("SYSTEM INFO R1A" is the old version.)
If the program reports "UNKNOWN" or similar, I would be grateful if you can send me an email so I can extend the program to recognize more hardware. The email is at the bottom of the page w1.865.comhem.se/~u86517142/c128assembly.htm .

Technical data of the new Catweasel MK4 |
15:48 |
During the first months of this year, we were totally surprised by the overwhelming demand for Catweasel MK3. All stock has been sold, and even our retail partners do not have anything left in stock. The demand was so high that one controller even went for more than 150,- EUR on eBay!
Unfortunately, it turned out that a new production run of the existing MK3-design cannot be done for reasonable prices, so a re-design became necessary. The new controller is now in the first stage before mass production, so we?re confident to be able to show the first controllers at the Amiwest show on july 24th and 25th in Sacramento, Califoria.
Many improvements have been made compared to the Catweasel MK3 that can be summarized under the headline "bigger, better, faster".
Read all about the new controller on the individual Computers website.
Should that server be down due to regular maintenance this weekend, please use this alternative link.

Commodore 128 system information program |
14:47 |
In 2002, I implemented a very short system information program for the C128. I have now extended it and also corrected a bug, which caused the new ROM version to always be reported for national Kernal ROMs.
The program reports the following information:
* BASIC LO and HI version
* EDITOR/KERNAL version (including language)
* VDC chip version
* The amount of VDC memory
* The version of the SID chip (6581 or 8580). Note that reSID must be enabled in VICE if you want it to work with VICE.
* MMU version (most likely, only one version has been made of the MMU but I report the version anyway)
The link to the .d71 file is here: w1.865.comhem.se/~u86517142/Disketter/Egna_program_och_projekt/c128_prg.zip. That file also contains a few other C128 programs I have written.
If the program reports "UNKNOWN", I would be grateful if you can send me an email so I can extend the program to recognize more hardware. The email is at the bottom of the page w1.865.comhem.se/~u86517142/c128assembly.htm .

Monastery party 2004 photos |
13:58 |
Well, a new word processor for the C64 is certainly not an achievement the world was waiting for in 2004. But if you like to use your C64 for everyday computer work, then give the program a try. Maybe you will enjoy it.
Features: 80 col editor, acceptable speed, 10 adjustable paragraph formats, embedded printer commands, multi-column layout. You will need a Y/C cable for separate luma and chroma output to your monitor.

Get it at: droid64.sourceforge.netdroiD64 is a graphical filemanager for D64 files (Commodore 64 and others) written in Java. May this tool make life easier for Commodore 64 fans, especially for those using MAC and Linux systems as there are tools available for Windows anyway.

Defender Of The Crown - History has been re-made! |
21:01 |
Yet another new release from Nostalgia and it?s something really special; Cinemaware?s Defender Of The Crown +9D has been onesided and features the tournament champion picture that was missing from the ESI crack - since all the other cracks were based on ESI?s version and some bugfixing of the original has taken place, that makes this the most complete version of the game ever released! What?s more, it now works with CMD and Commodore drives.
And where can you grab this masterpiece from? The usual address; nostalgia.c64.org

USB "Storage" via 64HDD |
09:48 |
Uploaded to the 64HDD website is a DOS driver for connecting and using USB "mass storage class" (MSC) devices from DOS, thereby giving C64 direct access to these devices via 64HDD.
This means your C64 can:
read/write files to USB "thumb" or flash "memory key" devices
read/write files to cards (CompactFlash, SMC, etc) connected to USB card reader
read files directly from USB MSC compatible digital cameras
More info on the plug-ins page and in the download zip at www.64hdd.com

New WEC web site :) |
22:28 |
Hiho, I?ve just been putting the finishing touches to the all new WEC web site. The old site has been down for over 1 year now. My new site, as well as showing Commodore 64 graphics (yup I have uploaded an unreleased SHIF image called Andromeda. It should appear in a demo one day :) there are now also some graphics there I created for Gameboy Color, Playstation, PS2 and Gamecube.
www.truecolor.741.com
Note: If the site appears down it simply means it is over loaded. Being a FREE site there is a limit on the amount of data that can be access in any one given 24 hours. Also sorry about the banners and pop up?s. As soon as I find a better place I will upload the site there.
On the c64 site of things, there is still a little bit more work required. I?m working on it :)

Like the dawn of a new age, the dawn of the new month brings yet another naval gazing issue of Game Over(view). This month?s issue features reviews of six games, as well as the usual pissy complaining and borderline plagerism that makes it the least respected diskmag in the history of the scene.
