Much cooler would have been to actually convert the DX:IW demo onto C64, being only 2 quite small maps it wouldn’t be that big effort :)

Why always me? :)) I’ve released an enginesource which gives everyone quite easy possibility for doing so.. though of course it’s more elite to program everything yourself from ground up :)

Right..... Time for me to stop talking out of my backside for once :) I did not realise that I was looking at the wrong page in the results section. I was looking at the Jury Voting (Ten people). I noticed that the scene were not downvoting me after all, I scored 299 points, and I am pleased with these results. For those who voted me those 299 points. Many thanks and I appreciate it :) Dalezy, thanks for the razor - It’s about time I had changed the razor on my Mach 3 Turbo :)

Why aren’t the releses at the Willow page not zipped? Most C64 users have 2 drives and there are unzip tools for C64. Pity the person who has slow dialup and no compression.
Stryyker

[16] : 04. Dec 2003 08:29
Thinking about the fact that you have to download them from somewhere and that there are only a few people around using their c64 to go online i think there is even less reason for unzipped stuff on the net.....

[17] : 04. Dec 2003 15:38
Is the deadline being extended for the Christmas compo? Two days is a little tight...!

Yes it is! New deadline is december 18th, webpage will be updated soon with first release (music).

Hmm.. shall I also post news if I make some change in C64 software build process, for example optimize my makefiles or switch to another crossassembler? :)

[21] : 04. Dec 2003 21:37
Sure, let us all spam c64.sk! By the way, i reinstalled win98 a few days ago..do you think it would have been worth posting?
pipi Shortsocks

[22] : 04. Dec 2003 22:17
@ [15]: Maybe simply ask the orgas about it? Anyhow, Willow Party releases are now available from Goin’ 4 Gold as one zip file.

@ [20] & [21]: I disagree with your point of view. Since WiNGS is an operating system for a SuperCPU enhanced C64, it fits here pretty well imho.

[23] : 05. Dec 2003 00:49
i’d have said the post wasn’t about WiNGS as such, it’s only about the development process - is this site now the WiNGS developer’s weblog...?

[24] : 05. Dec 2003 01:01
Cadaver, good point. T.M.R. good point.
CreaMD (trying to hide in the corner)

[25] : 05. Dec 2003 01:20
THOUSANDS of people ??? Yes, on those HCC picture pages I could see like 20-30 or so ... damn you buggers ... I’d LOVE to see a mass of people just coming for the commodore brand ... someone gimme some real excitement, but lame news are no news ... ---> my vote for the beta news ...

[26] : 05. Dec 2003 06:43
The WiNGS can affect many users as you can download sources and compile/assemble the whole lot yourself. If it was totally internal and closed project then of course not here.
Stryyker

[27] : 05. Dec 2003 09:02
As this was big news for Wings, I don’t have nothing against posting it here. It’s the product of a very talented scener anyway so what’s the problem? Thanks to MacGyver’s for being Wings protege :))

[28] : 05. Dec 2003 10:21
Okay, if we’re all going to start taking pro/anti WiNGS stances and ,since i’m not a WiNGS protege i’m going to play Devil’s advocate here (my regular stance is indifference) lets work out how many people this post actually affects. First, how what percentage of C64 users have a SuperCPU? Now, what percentage of that user base use WiNGS? Then we need to know, what percentage of those users actually compile the thing for themselves rather than just grabbing the distribution version? And *finally*, how many of that final, rather finite number of people (whom Stryyker describes as "many users" but i can’t see it being that large a user base) can’t read a paragraph on the download site saying that things have changed? (Updated the T.A.C. post to install a hyperlink.)

[29] : 05. Dec 2003 10:42
This is a waste of time imho. Everyone has his own opinion, and if ppl don’t learn that c64.sk should try to cover MANY aspects of C64 production, I can’t help it. There will always be disagreements. I now get back and work on projects instead of getting lost in discussions.

[30] : 05. Dec 2003 10:46
I have no issues with it being moved to beta but it’s also like VIC20 users. There is not alot of real VIC20s being used. Maybe I’m upset that SCPU bashing is fine but VIC20 gets pampered. SCPU needs a C64 compatible.
Stryyker

[31] : 05. Dec 2003 14:28
If sources are downloadable then info about change of developemnt system is interesting, but definitely no for main news. It’s okay to keep it for about 1 day, but then we’ll move to beta-news which is what I’m going to do right now.

perhaps all the wings/party pix/beta/useless crapola can be moved to a various hyperlinks underneath the c64 portal logo and be read in a popup? When you post news, you can simply add a tab on which section you want to add the news to. Save us searching thru junk that quite frankly us of the 64th reich do not want to read.
