The scene is dead JUN 22 2005 04:35

Summertime...

[2] : 01. Jun 2005 08:13
Indeed.. Too bad the weather is shit.. you know - locally speaking ofcourse :)
Laxity

[3] : 01. Jun 2005 12:21
Locally speaking, here in Firenze we had 30?C at midnight.
Luca/FIRE

[4] : 01. Jun 2005 15:33
An independent view regarding the weather is that weather can’t be good or bad, only the clothing can’t be fitting the circumstances
Jan Delay

[5] : 01. Jun 2005 20:24
There is a massive weather system growing in my pants and soon I won’t be able to contain it anylonger!
Concerned Citizen

[6] : 02. Jun 2005 13:27
HVSC seems not to contain any covers of Bob Zawinul and the Weather Report, not even "Birdland". On the other hand, there is no cover of Weather Girls’ "It’s raining men" neither. .. he said, looking through the window at a light drizzle.
Anders Carlsson

[7] : 02. Jun 2005 13:34
Oh, DRAX once begun on a cover, but it is credited to Manhattan Transfer’s cover. By the way, it is Joe Zawinul says Google.
Anders Carlsson

[8] : 02. Jun 2005 23:15
Added Monastery Party to the partyscope.

WASSUUUUUP!? Checking, one, two. Seems to work. %)

[12] : 07. Jun 2005 21:07
I’m quite sure that "FREAX" doesn’t contain the "full history of the demo scene".
Moloch

[13] : 07. Jun 2005 22:09
Definately! Some parties produced enough material for those 350 pages. Still,I think it might be interesting to have though.
Tch/Brutal

[14] : 09. Jun 2005 01:02
As long as it doesn’t have a long history of magic dragons that live inside the c64, like a certain other "c64" book, it can’t be all bad. I think I’ll wait for the cracked version of the book tho :P
Slarti/Chrome

[15] : 09. Jun 2005 01:26
Magic dragons? I knew about Vic, Sid and the CIA. Maybe one or two dust mice too. Is there any video effects that rely on how overheated the chip gets due to dust?
Anders Carlsson

[16] : 09. Jun 2005 10:00
[15] Blank screen.
CreaMD

[17] : 09. Jun 2005 17:19
@Anders.. A C64 overheating? I once had it turned on for close to 3 months and it kept running smoothly. And believe me,it was -and still is- quite dusty. The discdrive is another topic ofcoz.. ;P

Steppe: Tu quoque, Brute, fili mi?!?!
CreaMD

[19] : 10. Jun 2005 00:08
@15, 17: I’ve had a breadbox without a heatsink running continously for several weeks. There was no strange behaviour, damage, whatsoever. As for being dusty, none of my commies are dusty. I wash’em with soap. ;P
Cybernator

[20] : 10. Jun 2005 05:55
Just to be on topic here, great work on the HVSC intro to all involved! Stylish lead in with HVSC info, nice main part, and of course an awesome tune by Jeff that shows the good ol SID is still more than capabable of making jaws drop :)
Slarti/Chrome

[21] : 10. Jun 2005 12:31
Dish-cleaning fluid and a hard sponge could do real magic with plastic vanila surfaces, just don’t forget to get out the electronic components, right... After a session the equipment could look like brand new.
Cleany

[22] : 10. Jun 2005 13:38
CreaMD, I beg your pardon? ;-) I was just in a silly mood and wanted to see if the absence of postings here is maybe down to a bug in the posting function here. :-)

[23] : 10. Jun 2005 14:39
[22] A bug?
CreaMD

[24] : 10. Jun 2005 14:41
Woo. Washing the case, restoring the keyboard, dusting off the interior and then most computers can be sold as "mint condition", or at least "newly renovated" to use a car sellers term.

Re 2005 Minigame compo launched: Since when was 1K 1280 bytes and 4k 4352 bytes?
curious

[29] : 12. Jun 2005 20:44
That was just a simple mistake. :) Sorry
Rich the pisshead

[30] : 12. Jun 2005 21:32
English people use to drive on the wrong side of the road, too!
Jan Delay

[31] : 13. Jun 2005 10:32
my favourite thing about that, is that 1280 is not even a multiple of 4352 :)

[32] : 13. Jun 2005 11:57
It is obvious: the first kilobyte is 1280 bytes, and the following kilobytes are 1024 bytes each. The computer needs a 256 byte header to know that a program is coming. Regarding the crap game compo, I’m quite sure it runs until 31 December like last year.
Anders Carlsson

Thanx, Anders.

[37-38]: RoboNES is the main organiser. Richard is the sponsor (moderator) of the Commodore platforms. The interest to host a such compo isn’t too overwhelming, as far as I understand. Wyndex has, with help of others, hosted it for two years now.
Anders Carlsson

[40] : 14. Jun 2005 16:46
Ghost escapes body... Something tells me we should have expected this. He was undoubtedly one of the most original SID composers. I’m lost for words. Rest in peace Kjell. :(

My condelences to the parents and family of Kjell. His music was different, to say the least, and I enjoyed many of them. A sad day for the scene, I wish him well, wherever he now is...

I will pay my respects if there ever will be a Scene-Tombstone. Untill that day,I?ll assume it is alive. ;) Besides, only LAMERS think they have the power to declare something that can not be owned, dead. Using a nick like "John 666" tells me enough about who this might have been. Go kill some Koalas if you are bored. I guess your parents gave up on you a long time ago. (PUKE!) Why not kill yourself, that would suit your lame 666 reference and it will save the scene a lot of "bad vibes". :P

MorGor

Because there’s only two editors now and neither have had the time for quite a while to see to it...

@CreaMD: no cover compo?
Luca/FIRE

[63] : 30. Jun 2005 15:37
If I will get enough entries into GT2 compo (means at least 10-15 ;-) I might also make cover compo in august ;-).
