New Odin Tracker released APR 02 2002 00:19

[1] : 01. Apr 2002 06:11
Mekka & Symposium always had such a competition and also has one right now. But unfortunatetly c64 participation has always been rather low.

And another party to add: http://www.symphony.vdb.pl/ . Symphony (from 17th of July to the 21st of July) in Trzcianka, Poland.

I’ve seen the C64 entries of the Mekka Symposium 2002 party. However I don’t approve of having to waggle a joystick, just to make excrement come out of the black hole :)

The musics were cool, but I thought that Welle Eerdball’s song was poor. I would rate the following: 1. Fanta+Syndrom 2. Agemixer/Scallop 3. Eco/Excess but it was the party votes that count :)

Demo wise I disliked the BASIC demos, but the assembly coded demos were brilliant. Especially WoW’s Evolution.

Must have been quite a good party :)

Richard

[6] : 02. Apr 2002 01:32
Hey, I just came back from Mekka & Symposium. Met a lot of weirdos (greets to CreamD :) and like the last year some old friends. The only REALLY good demo was from WoW (my congratulations, nice work) and the other ones... well... not that good, but nice 4k entries. Especially the 32k games were nice, but where have been the C64 entries? :-/ Greets to all visitors! Thumbs up!

[7] : 02. Apr 2002 09:20
There’s also a party in Norrk?ping, Sweden in April; Mainframe.
Puterman

[8] : 02. Apr 2002 12:42
Home sweet home!! ;-) Thanx for the great party everybody. It was an event which won’t ever be forgotten. Yeah! Symmeka organisers R U L E! Thumbs up! Stay tuned for more. And hey if you have photos, reportsm comments, anything, sent it over, we’ll make some nice compilation of that stuff for those who have missed the best scene event of the year.
CreaMD

[9] : 02. Apr 2002 13:15
Hey CreaMD, was it your first Mekka? :) Yes, it was really cool, again! :)
ThunderBlade/PROTOVISION

[10] : 02. Apr 2002 13:38
Yeah, first. And btw. sorry for the typos, endorfines and hurry-up-syndrome ha bad effects on my typing skills ;-)))
CreaMonique..

[11] : 02. Apr 2002 22:36
I am pretty disappointed with the Mekka Symposium releases, though. Only very few good ones. Wasn’t the Welle:Erdball song actually also released before the party on one of their albums? /Frank

krill’s 4k is radical. i am truly amazed

[13] : 03. Apr 2002 02:09
Hey, another thing, that would be nice on this site - a search functionality! Keep up the great work!
anonym/padua

[14] : 03. Apr 2002 13:26
Yeah, Krill’s 4k kicks ass! And btw. if you have OLD-SID please play my tune with that one, I composed a first old-sid tune ever at Mekka 2002 and I didn’t even know about that until I came home. Remastered new-sid version comming soonish.
CreaMD

[15] : 03. Apr 2002 18:25
Guys, pleas e also add Mainframe to the partyscope, the URL was posted by Puterman a few posts up.
anonym/padua

[16] : 03. Apr 2002 19:48
It seems that Mainframe is displayed on the top in comming up next. Thanx for adding it Maccie.
Roman

[17] : 03. Apr 2002 20:06
Maybe I am blind ;-) Sorry about that.
anonym/padua

[18] : 03. Apr 2002 20:11
Krills’ 4K intro had to be the best 4k entry in the compo. And no Emu-Fuxx0ring done either :)
Richard

[19] : 03. Apr 2002 21:48
Timesaver is also very cool. Seven showed what "coder does it with routine" mean in praxe ;-)).
CreaMD

[20] : 04. Apr 2002 15:29
Timesaver is ok as a parody, but it’s an art to put this into 4k, or did I miss something? Then again it could be considered a nice new approach to 4ks... Not sure about this one.
anonym/padua

[21] : 04. Apr 2002 21:00
On C64 or Amiga the 4k making is more about clever ideas and for me that counts more than fancy hardware dependent accelerated rendering which I noticed in PC 4k intros. Btw. I have one important question about Mainframe party. It seems that it’s only PC-Amiga oriented party so I consider if we should/should not announce it here at c64.sk what do you think?
CreaMD

[22] : 04. Apr 2002 22:00
CreamD: Yeah, I’m starting to think the same thing about Mainframe, but I’ve been told that there will also be C-64 compos (and there will be C-64 releases, that’s for sure), although it seems the guy who made the web page fucked it up. Let’s hope the web page will get updated with that info.
Puterman

[23] : 05. Apr 2002 02:21
i’m thinking of hammering a small and reasonably pretty release out for Mainframe and (if the C64 compo fails to appear) entering it in the PC compo as "unaccellerated" =-)

[24] : 05. Apr 2002 11:06
;-)))) Please, do!
CreaMD

[25] : 05. Apr 2002 12:30
Yeah, please to, so that we’ll get a serious C-64 compo.
Puterman

[26] : 06. Apr 2002 22:12
In the demo Dementia - I’ve seen some raster flickers on the intro screen. (Reminds me of some crap intro screens I did in the past) :)
Richard

[27] : 07. Apr 2002 02:16
Richard:you got NTSC setup? It was the dudes first demo anyway.
Stryyker

[28] : 07. Apr 2002 03:26
Richard: It’s an NTSC demo, the flickers are ’cos it’s worked out for a different standard so it blows it’s timings to shit. Use CCS64 and change it to 65 cycle NTSC mode before starting the file.

[29] : 07. Apr 2002 16:03
oops :) Okay, I’ll check it out on NTSC mode then. Cheers guys :)
Richard

[30] : 07. Apr 2002 21:25
Not much of a reaction I don’t know if it is happening with you, but when I try and display my web site (http://tnd64.cjb.net) I get an error 403 - forbidden. Message on every single page. What does this ERROR mean? Is it something to do with server problems? If this is the case, then there could be a major delay for me to update my web site.
Richard

[31] : 08. Apr 2002 23:16
Webpages updated group jumpings and relese promises.. is that only activity C64 people do nowadays? ;-))) Come on release something dudes.
CreaMD

[32] : 08. Apr 2002 23:34
Working on it [crosses fingers and hopes to find time...!]

[33] : 09. Apr 2002 09:10
Well, CreaMD, what would you want? People mostly release at parties (what’s the last time you composed something not for a party? ;D) and as there were Floppy, Forever and Mekka lately, people must be completely juiced out. (Sq?)Wish ’em the rest they might deserve now. There’s too many parties, me thinks.
Wotnau

[34] : 09. Apr 2002 09:33
I compose a lot of tunes and motives just for my personal pleasure and don’t release them. Last tune I did (it’s just a simple remix, but maybe someone will like it) is released in SidWine compo. I will release 110% version of my Mekka tune soon. Also Mekka for most C64people must have been inspiration and energiser, for me it was ;) although I need a break from completely different reasons now.
CreaMD

[35] : 09. Apr 2002 09:41
I just ask people to not to promise. Hey ppl, don’t talk about your plans, realise them.
CreaMD

[36] : 10. Apr 2002 15:23
Good poing Roman, if there’s one thing that I (should have) learned during the years, then it’s not to raise expectations, but rather to surprise. /Frank

[38] : 10. Apr 2002 17:11
[Sneaks up behind anonym and shouts BOOO!!] That do? =-)

[39] : 10. Apr 2002 18:04
Jesus, my heart .. don’t do that again, ok?
Tdj/Focus

[40] : 10. Apr 2002 21:29
Is it BOOO preview or BOOO 100%? And is it official release of Cosine or just personal project of TMR?
CreAMD

[41] : 10. Apr 2002 22:19
It’s only a preview, so don’t bother training it!

[42] : 11. Apr 2002 01:01
You scared me. I wasn’t refering to that type of surprise ;-) Where’s the release?
anonym/padua

[43] : 11. Apr 2002 09:16
In alpha-test [crosses fingers and hopes] - well it’s sort of working so i may have a release for Mainframe... =-)

[44] : 13. Apr 2002 21:22
Mainframe? Yeah, I’m hoping to enter the demo compo and music compo. I’m still working on my Civitas demo for the party, but I’ll try and get it finished for 25th April, and upload my entry via FTP. :) As for the music. You’ll have to wait and see what I have in store :)
Richard/Civitas

[45] : 14. Apr 2002 11:35
Richard: The deadline is 22nd April for entries being emailed/FTP’d.

[46] : 14. Apr 2002 19:34
Should be no problem. ....and there may be a possibility that the final version HMD may be released at Mainframe 2002 before I release it on TND
Richard/Civitas

[47] : 22. Apr 2002 09:54
Soon this portal will celebrate it’s first year. I would like to thank you all for the support and slowly, but steadily increasing creativity you showed during this period. Have a beautiful Monday everybody.
CreaMD

[48] : 22. Apr 2002 10:16
[Sings "Happy Birthday" to the site]

i’m probably not the only person who’ll say this, but thank you to all the c64.sk team for giving us the portal to play with in the first place!

[49] : 22. Apr 2002 18:59
[Sends a strip-o-gram]
Richard

[50] : 23. Apr 2002 19:09
^^ That’s me being silly and sarcastic. Yeah, just three more days until Mainframe 2002.
Richard

[51] : 28. Apr 2002 00:29
Just 22 days to 1st c64.sk birthday.
CreaMD

[52] : 28. Apr 2002 10:37
Cool. Maybe you should run a compo, which is to get the demo scene to write a birthday demo for C64.sk. What do you think about that?

[53] : 28. Apr 2002 11:34
Mainframe! Livereport....8 bitar h?ller stilen!
Trazan

[54] : 28. Apr 2002 23:29

[55] : 29. Apr 2002 10:27
Lasse, great thing this loadersystem! But why does 60K source mean I have to use a crossasm? Can’t i use Virtual Assembler 16 on my C64? ;-)
ThunderBlade/PROTOVISION

[56] : 29. Apr 2002 11:06
Hehe..sure you can, but I guess you are a minority :)

[57] : 30. Apr 2002 19:02
So what?
ThunderBlade/PROTOVISION

[58] : 30. Apr 2002 19:48
Well, it read "likely have to use". Guess you don’t fit in that "likely" then :)
