Again quite decadent tune, but this has lots of soul & warmth in it. Sounds quite a bit Jeroen Tel-like.

My favourite tune. Soundwise good, and I liked the sneaky use of ringmod. Could well have been longer and with more melodic breaks!

what should i say? i showed this tune to my grandma and she recognized the author without her earing aid. this is no name or friendshipvoting (are we friends, thomas? :-). it´s typicall drax stuff with a great arrangement, theme and especially a catchyness that only very few composers are capable of. i have the melodies in my ear(wig) for some days now. therefore i give it a 9 as 8,5 is not allowed. well done...

theatral theme, Love-Death in Venice, MON-like stakkatos, highlight is missing

Very positive sounding tune with lots of good & different sounds and lot of attention paid to small details happening in the background.. Loops also very nicely.

A wicked intro. No real lead though, just playing with the harmonies throughout.

the melodic line is actually pretty generic. with stress on 'pretty'. i simply like it and there's not much you can do about this. and it sounds nice.

How could my two favourite songs in this competition have almost identical names? Surely a conspiricy. This one, in contrast to the other, though, sounds just so cinematic, the one orcan does so well (is this him?), making this also completly brilliant in such a different way to cause of death.

it starts out very jovial, gets dramatic and finally becomes one of these tunes that i could listen to for hours.

Perfect sounds and a nice melody. Now this is at least GOOD, which mean I would download and actually listen to it again. 7 is the highest score I give today. This one is the only tune that deserved it.

very catchy with great instruments, just the (end)part at 2:40 gets a bit boring.

Beautiful introsequence, and the tune itself reminds me of Flotsam/Collisions experiments in trance on the C-64 from the early nineties. Nice nevertheless.

This tune does some amazing stuff with the SID. The drums sound almost like digis and there seems to be a galwaynoise like sound...

It's always cool to filter several voices. Fun sound effects. Too bad the lead isn't that memorable

at first - a mildly interesting progression and plethora of fx; some neat fragments drowned in an aimlessly spilling half-warm soup. but after i ate a big mac it started to sound somewhat better. strange, huh? oh, and neat ending. i always fall for these.

Okay, technically _very_ impressive. Lets get that straight out. THankfully, also musically there, which many technically impressive songs these days seem to lack

technically seen it's a great tune, i simply like the soundsetup. yet the melody is pretty hard to listen to (which is quite common whenever i listen to any other of this composers tunes - what kinda scale is that?).

Awesome tune, technically a killer. If I had to pick up the single best tune of the compo I'd definately chose this one.

One of my faves this compo, which have grown over time. This one feels like the perfect meld of Scortias and Metals later melodies with those chords and sensitive melodies. Didn't expect a tune like this in the compo. Very danish.

Beginning sounds like a radio. Nice, but then comes "normal" copied sounds. Naa, some data but not enough to satisfy. Feels like it is repeating too much, eventhough there's some variation. Skips nice in the end. Nice work, but make it HEAVIER data. and drop the base.

How cool! Times like this you want extra voices to add! Maybe that's why I'm not giving it a higher score - the style makes you so aware of the limits.

Metal on the C64 ??? wow ....

Either someone played even more metal warrior 4 than I did, or someone is cadaver :). Either way, this tune has that definite style to it, which is always in fashion! The song sounds great, although perhaps the intro hides what lies behind it a little too well

this one has a nice theme, it's something for those that can appreciate some nice riffs, which leads back to guessing that the autor spends some quality time playing guitar next to doing c64-musick.

Fast, speeded, nice, good beat. Game tune. Shoot em up or car race. Feels like going FAST on the autobahn. Music to work out or clean the room very fast to! Love it. Very nice break at 1:50. Although it feels like the tune repeats very much, it is good it is long.

Total show of technical excellency and evokes a decadent feeling... Decadent but just a bit cold.

Very smooth sounds. I would have wanted some sort of strong chorus in this. Now it feels like more like a random jam session. Nothing wrong with that, though.

reminiscent of martin iveson's bubba'n'stix mods, which i absolutely adore, blended with some hints of lucasarts' adventure games soundtracks... bliss. plus it doesn't sound like a 1x speed tune at all.

i realy like this one. a bit simple but it works for me.

Focus on food, catchy melody and nice chordprogression. This tune is leaning on to a local musical tradition which indicates that it is originating from the areas around Örebro, mid Sweden.

(6th place, VERY enjoyable, the leads are amazingly inspired, it just becomes boring a little bit too early - a little variation wouldn't hurt it)

This is horrible to say, since I couldn't write a song like this ever, but part of me just wants to scream "this was great when it was Celebrating Samhain, or any one of the other Tinnitus songs from the past 12 months". Very nice, very engaging and very celtish. Not completely unlike last years entry in style but doesn't reach out to the level wonderful, like that one did. The follinish turn at 2:00 gives me an unnatural urge to play Solstice on the NES.

Haha, begins with epic medieval guitar :) The low noise frequencies of the drums bother me extremely, but the creativity makes up for it. Lots of diverse influences, there is some Follin feeling but it also reminds of LN3 music...

Togheter with "Lost Again" is one of the best tune in the Compo, wonderful!

What puts me off is the instruments. Some pulse and vibrato would have made it more pleasant. It also takes quite a while before something happens.

except for the clumsy handling of the progression somewhere in the middle, the song, sprinkled with bits of gray and dunn, develops nicely without risk of lulling the listener to sleep. i think that's quite an achievement, bearing in mind its length.

Melodic songs like this, that's what the sid is all about, for me, at least that's what I thought until I hit about, uhm, 1:00 or so. Now, personally, at that point I would have done the bass line quite differently to the author, but the song redeemed itself by the 1:30 mark, by bringing in an exquisite lead . The song gets an 8 anyhow, because I absoutely can't fault the author's musicianship, just one technical decision that is probably a product of my sid having a different sid to theirs anyhow :).

I swear, that this tune is from Astarion! I like it very much...

Quite good, but too much Jazz to be really good. Nice energy in this tune. LOOOONG, repetitive. Copied base line. No use. Base and drums would benefit from not being on the same channel, but then it would be only one channel left for the "waveing" sound (that gives me a headace after a while anyway) and the melody (that is not very good but atleast has some variations in it.) The SECOND tune, at 5.00 is the nicest in this one. Good data with the ring modulation, but it could have benefitted from being more variated and more sounds and a cooler beat, with more fucked up drum sounds. More like Stu, but that would be asking for Stu and not this author. Is it Mermaid mĺntro? Good tune for being her.

Richard Joseph meets Paul Norman for the composition of the tunes for the the C-64 conversion of "Wizardy VII". If I made an adventure game, i'd beg this composer on my bare knees for a tune. One of the big surprises in the compo.

This is mzx for a RPG game. I like analog RPG but I dont like electric mzx in RPG. Not even in the digital RPGs. Find a job as musician for a game company. You'll do fine. Good descriptive title of the tune. The tune could go on forever.

I am deeply in love with this song, it's hard to describe why. Because it shouldn't be that impressive, but it manages to create a feeling in a way that not that many songs do, in the same way that "Illumination" did last year, I guess.

A normal tune. Nothing data at all. What's the point? This could be playing on the radio without me taking notice. The drums are so perfect, the background "waving" so pathetic. The melody is smooth and melancollic. Kind of nice when in the right mood. Bouns for Variation.

This song is quite different, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I do love what is there, but there isn't nearly enough of it, and instead the author tries to make up for this by almost endless repeating of certain sections. A shame, because what's here _is_ really good.

Why not echoes in the beginning? Also the harmonies get a bit out of tune at times. Someone's been listening to Drax while composing the lead, I think.

the lead decides to wander off the rehearsed bionic commando path and unintentionally causes terror among unsuspecting listeners. that's ok in my book, i like causing terror too. a 7 for this gentleman.

This, on the other hand, did resonate, in a sort of lightforce meats Bluez' Muz style.

a tricky one. at first i thought it's 3 people who did that tune. then i thought i'm somewhat sure to know who it is until i got tricked again. see, we're talking versatility in composing experience here, which is good. this tune has the magic ability to run for several hours without getting boring.

Brave of the composer to add a tune like this for a compo, since it needs some time to grow in your mind. Feels like a suitable titletune for a Spiderman or X-men conversion.

Nice sounding, very soft vibes around the sounds, especially the drums and bass. Reminds me a lot of the music made in Grabowskys editor, "Sosperec" by Cane and DOS of ADSR.

80's, 80's, 80's. It is fun, but not good. This could have gone good with any shit game, like Garfield or smthng. Tries to be Jazzy. They are all COPYS, going in "the wrong" direction from being good.

Like the title suggests, this is very relaxing music, but still has strong & dynamic feeling to it. It develops sort of slowly, so user patience is needed.

Sounds like smoookas shit. Dont like the tune. The sounds are good, but the tune is not built up in the way I like them. There could be more data sounds and less base beat that doesnt give me anything anyway. But bonus points for choosing a descriptive title for the tune. Ambient and strange. Nice atonality in the beginning. The mid theme got quite standard chords and isn't as interesting as the third theme, which feels actionpacked. Would have benefitted from leaving out parts and polishing more, if the intention wasn't to overwhelm the listener with these three, way different feelings.

This must be Puterman. Nice sounds, a litte "too good" for being Puterman. Minimalistic and nice. I love the triangle wave beeping now and then. Just plan nice. The rnd() functions in the end is lovely. Smooth beat.

Pretty nice tune. Reminded me a lot of old skool house music. I like the slides at the end a lot :) (One or two SID "bleeds" or "bugs" (on my 8580 anyway) that made me crap myself, but we wont mention them...)

This doesn't sound like standard C-64 music, and that's what I really like with it. Love the usage of ringmodulation and the lack of arpeggios other than melodic ones. I like the atonality aswell, and there' are no doubt that those passages are intentional.

Voting on my own tune here!!! Doesnt feel alright, though. I never do that at parties. But as the tune is fairly good with wikked sounds, I give it a six. I could have worked more on the sounds and not repeat the same pattern as often. But the tune was done in a rush. And it took approx. 1 hour to do it. Longer tune, with more variation will come in the future. This tune is not my usual dark chaotic style that I acctually like better. Maybe I just wanted to get votes?! That sucks, man! Give me more DATA! I'm not a musician. I'm a coder. The tune is too slow, doesnt have a good beat, doesnt tie together. Descriptive title. I like the SID click.

i love this out of the blue snare-ish-kick-sort-of-tom-like drum. plim plum plim WHACK. the melody is charming in its simplicity, the whole thing feels like it was composed by mermaid when she was 3 years old. ok, basically what i'm trying to say is: this song sucks ass. and i like it nevertheless. it carves a wide smile on my face with its crude, blunt motiffs and clumsy solo-wannabes. it doesn't happen often, me liking a crappy song so i give it a 9. as you can imagine.
