This is an update to V1.01, the slower (10 rasterlines) & feature-richer version. Now the playroutine has been optimized by 58 bytes, "unfortunately" this means that octave 0 & Flt-command had to go. Also, pulsetable acts like in V1.02 and note entry is Soundtracker/Protracker style now. :) Standard & Gamemusic versions are now in the same package. Gamemusic version has been proven to successfully integrate into MW4 engine :) Download

Hello guys,
there are plans here at SINTECH to make a big 8-Bit show here in Stuttgart, that?s in the south of Germany. However, we need some user-groups/clubs to assist us with this.
Planned is:
- A computer-sales-range with several sellers from all over Europe.
- A club-range where all the computer clubs/groups can show their offers and meet their members as well as hopefully see many new users.
- A soccer-tournament with teams for each computer.
All will be held in a big city hall over here and there are showers for the soccer players. The field is just in front of the hall, so not far away.
Plans are for Spring 2003 or Autum 2003. I ask all people here for their comments, if they would like to come, any suggestions what else to offer and if anybody is willing to help.
There will be a table fee for the sellers and maybe a small entrance fee of 1 Euro.
Please write me if there is a demand for such a meeting. We ask for C-64, Atari, Amstrad and Spectrum-Users.
Regards
Thomas

17:48 |
Encouraged by the author of The SuperCPU Home I came out of my cave to announce the birth of a SCPU intro. Nothing ultra fancy, but a logical combination of 65816 opcodes featuring SuperRAM-handling, 16-bit loading, double buffered bitmap and of course kilometres of scrolltext. DownloadThe file includes several datafiles, a note explaining some of the routines and source code in Protovision?s Virtual Assembler format, (un)fortunately commented in Finnish. NinjaTracker V1.02 - 8 ninjasweet rasterlines |
01:34 |
After extreme optimization, NinjaTracker V1.02 plays music in 8 rasterlines (including badline), while still keeping full step-programming of frequency, pulse, wave, filter and proper hardrestart! Thanks must go to Aleksi Eeben for inspiration & challenge, I now consider John Player to be beaten in feature/rastertime ratio! (JP uses 7, but this is measured in the border -- no badline)
Beware - optimizations have their price, heh... Though I still consider this to be fairly usable.
Now both standard & gamemusic versions are in one package:

Report & Photos from the RADWAR Party 2002 |
01:29 |
Hey ya all! I just got back home from D?sseldorf, after spending the best time ever spent by a dane. Guyz, i cant begin to tell ya, what feeling i have in my ole heart. Thx to RADWAR for bringing this party up, and all of ya rest. Without you guyz, im sure i couldnt die a happy man. All you oldschooler knows, that my mission was completed, when i finally got to see, Duke, Zeron and IRATA. Too sad the rest of the guyz from da AEK meeting in Essen 1986 couldnt be there. All at the paddy made it good again, when i saw your faces. I can for sure tell ya all, that it wont be another 15 years before we meet again. And i wont be going on the train again. Next time i fly down. But all theese words cant descibe what i feel, but you all probably know. Theese past 5 days have made it quite clear to me, that friendship is a presious thing, and when cared for, itll be for life.
To all of you guyz out there, take care of each other, be there when needed, and may the spirit be with ya forever. So i really hope that as many of ya will come to Autumn 2003, then we will regain our youth, as we did in Heinsberg this past week-end. But look out for me! I might suddenly turn up at ya doorstep.
I think ill skip MS2k3, for a trip to K?ln. Never been there, so that i gotta see. Es war doch die kleingeliste party dieser jahre. Now ill stop this babling, cos im so fucking filled up in my head.
Ohh, yes i was one of the first to show at da paddy, and i was the last sceener that left. Correction, Lincoln left with me.
See ya all soon.
Sphinx / Danish Gold signing off.
Yep @All, i?ve writen it often, but i say it again - The Friendship and Unity on this Party was wounderfull, Greetz to all of ya and specially to $Teve, Kirk, Whitesport, C-64 Team, RADWAR, and all the others...
So,I hope we?ll made soon another Party together and if possible, we?ll come again.
RESPECT Mates - AMI ( Tristar )
The party is over, see the results at www.radwar.com

The full text of Hi-Res Magazine is now online at the Classic Computer Magazine Archive: www.atarimagazines.com.
Hi-Res was a short-lived magazine, published from 1983 to 1984, dedicated to the Atari 8-Bit and Commodore 64 computers. The archive includes the full text of (all?) four issues. (The publisher recalls that six issues were published, but no one we consulted has seen issues beyond number four. If anyone can verify the existence of issues 5 and 6, please let me know.)
Highlights inclide: A preview of the Commodore 264 Computer, an interview with Activision?s David Crane, and 34 Atari and C64 software reviews.

Advanced Space Battle - screenshots |
09:54 |
"The game has not reached beta status yet, but lots of new features already work. For example, the ship movement engine works like a charm: Up to 100 objects can travel to and from freely selectable positions. Because of the way the game flows, it made more sense to let them move one after the other, and not simultaneously, although that would have been possible too." (Jan Boetcher aka More.Gore)
If you speak German, check more about the game here! And check the animated gif with screenshots here.

Jean Michael Jarre SID-pack |
19:49 |
Early synthesizer musicians influenced early computer music. Among them Jean Michael Jarre is known as the most important composer who influenced the C64 music scene in the 80s & 90s. His music has been frequently copied on C64, as well as Harold Faltermeyer?s "Axel F".
The Polish C64 newssite emu64.pl gathered such SIDs and released them as a music pack. Download it here.
