 Shortest intro ever? 23:45
ulimited bobs in 15 bytes! ftp://ftp.elysium.pl/incoming/demos/XXL_by_TSL_ARISE.PRG (There's a mirror of the file here)

After all the claimed intro records, i (T.M.R) would like to roundly resent... erm, proudly present what is to date the worlds smallest "intro". It's machine code, starts with a run command after loading and takes a mere five bytes - download it here and although it sucks i doubt it can be beaten! T.M.R

Another addition - argh, it's been done in 4 bytes by White Flame! Download the revised version here and i'm going to sulk now. It was my idea he used, no really it was!! =-)

According to this post at comp.sys.cbm posted by Brush/Elysium, HardTrack, the famous Polish Music Editor with (in my opinion) very good sound, goes open source. More precisely, it's new unfinished version. He also says: "Our aim is to finish it as soon as possible, fix remaining bugs and maybe further improve the players or write a new ones." If you are interested, don?t hesitate and join this project.

LINKO - latest release by Triad 21:39
Quorthon of Triad has released a decent English/German word guessing game - Linko. Download. The game was published in the year 2000 by GO64. It was coded and designed by Roland Hermans (Smidas/Dominators). Graphics was drawn by Willy Voesten (Grizzly Adams/Dominators). If you are wondering what those dudes did for DOM, the answer is simple: they were in the team of creators of the best demo (if not the only one ;-) by Dominators called Royal Touch. Fantastic 5 channel title music (using samples) was composed by Joachim Wijnhoven (YogiBear/Protovision).

Tribal Zone Music Compo 2002 00:13
Maybe some of you who visit Orange Juice have noticed the post about the chiptune music compo, organised by (according to current results of my investigation) polish, Tribal Zone Music. You can read the whole compo rules here, but what is important for C64 people is the fact that one of the compos called Chip-Man compo, accepts musics in SID format, plus other emulated 8-bit music formats. Compo lasts from 08.07.2002 to 01.09.2002.

Few days ago, Camilla Hakansson has posted a note at c64.org about LowBit Software?s website update. They currently offer 4 games : Chicken Race, Lingo, AKE 3 - Ake Gets Medieaval & Joakim Allstar, read more about them at their website.
 CMDRKEY.com opens 22:20
At http://cmdrkey.com Click Here Software Co. opened their new CMD-Online-Shop.

Maurice Randall: "When CMD first started, the product they offered was JiffyDOS. Likewise, the CMDRKEY.com online store begins with only JiffyDOS listed. But additional products will be added almost on a daily basis. They are being added in almost the same order as how CMD introduced each product over the years. Following JiffyDOS, is the CMD-HD line, then the RAMLink, then the FDSeries drive, then GEOS, etc."

 MW4:Dojo Preview sourcecode 15:15
Because the full game will take some time :) I decided to release this now. This pack contains all sourcecode, datafiles and special utilities needed to compile MW4:Dojo Preview. As always, source code is not well commented and it might be quite cryptic at times, especially the virtual machine-based script system. But anyway, enjoy!

 GoatTracker V1.3 & Tweak Utility 22:14
This is a quite major revision changing the ideology of GoatTracker somewhat. Now it isn?t so much about low rastertime anymore but also about some added features including repeat/transpose to make musicdata more compact, better quality, and more convenient portamento-commands :) Rastertime sits at about 16 most of the time in the new playroutines.

Some additions:
- Portamentos have more speed range and are easier to use
- Player doesn?t skip arpeggios/wavetables on tick 0 anymore
- Filter controlled by one command, or entirely from within an instrument
- Finer control of pulse-width modulation speed
- Finer control of vibrato
- Transpose & Repeat commands in order-list
- Hard restart can be optionally switched off on per-instrument basis
- Game-playroutine supports now loading of raw musicdata without playroutine (to save space on disk)

BIT Live 3 report, interviews and bootlegs 13:42
Good afternoon folks!

How about a full cover report of the whole BIT event, including the rehersals?

How about interviews with Adam Gilmore, David Whittaker, Richard Joseph and Pascal Roggen?

How about bootleg recordings of Press Play On Tapes whole live gig and selected parts from Machinae Supremacys preformance? How about a closer listen to the last 40 seconds of Monty on the Run, played only by Pascal Roggen on violin?

If you, for some strange reason, would like to take part of this material, head over to www.c64hq.com right away!

Cheers and thanks for your support,
